The Best Magic in the US

"The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function." F. Scott Fitzgerald

It is a clever idea, but I am not so certain it is true.

These, according to US News and World Reports, are the cream of the crop of US hospitals, the top 17, where you should go if you have particularly difficult or unusual case.

And which of the top 17 offer some sort of fantasy based pseudo-medcine? All of them. Click the links to see. At least UMPC is honest enough to offer it at the Shadyside location. Inadvertent truth in advertising?

US News has a formula they use to calculate what constitutes the best hospitals and physicians. Shouldn’t there be points deducted for offering useless and fradulent magic like reiki, acupuncture and craniosacral therapy to patients? I guess not.

Or perhaps the top 17 have superior magic. Is the reiki at these institutions more fantastical than at other institutions? Are they the Gandalfs and Dumbledores of the medical world, providing the very best in fantasy-based interventions to the awe and wonder of their patients?

More likely I suspect they are practicing Experimental Serendipity and Approximate Accuracy, wearing wearing a hat with the word WIZZARD emblazoned across it in sequins.
