Products without Chemicals: Cosmetics Join Homeopathic Products at CVS

In my feeds I received CVS Health Takes Major Step to Address Chemicals of Consumer Concern:

Parabens, phthalates and the most prevalent formaldehyde donors will be removed from extensive line of store brand beauty and personal care products.

A full list of the forbidden chemicals can be found here.

Parabens are a preservative found in a variety of products. Phthalates are a plasticizer and I assume all the readers know what formaldehyde is.

The reason? According to Cia Tucci, vice president of store brands and Quality Assurance at CVS Health

"We are committed to providing our customers with the safe, efficacious products that they are looking for. We listened when customers voiced their desire for products that still provide the benefits they need with fewer ingredients of concern. Today's announcement is a natural step in the evolution of our comprehensive approach to chemical safety."

CVS has been offering chemical free products for years.

A search of their website using 'homeopathic' had 578 products, including products for potentially fatal diseases such as asthma and influenza.

One reliable way to reduce chemicals in products is sell homeopathic nostrums. For example, do you need

A Homeopathic spray for sciatica? A Homeopathic Detox EMF Electromagnetic Radiation Oral Spray, A Homeopathic Letting Go Ang Anger Oral Spray? A Homeopathic Detox Vaccine Oral Spray? A Homeopathic Detox Chemicals Oral Spray? A Homeopathic Letting Go Oral Spray for Loneliness and Sadness? CVS has them and hundreds more. All with no chemicals at all.

Of course they are bypassing the whole efficacy/benefit component they are committed to in their products, but why quibble.  They contain no chemicals, toxic or otherwise.

First medicines, then cosmetics. What will be the next product to have those toxic chemicals removed? Better not be my beer.
